Purpose

Provide administrative and operational support for the School of Civic Leadership's Human Resources function through the coordination of recruitment, onboarding, employee services, and HR programs. Ensure the accurate execution of HR processes, compliance with university policies, and a high level of customer service for faculty, staff, students, and other SCL stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Support new employee onboarding and off boarding activities, ensuring a positive employee experience and timely completion of required documentation. Track onboarding progress for all SCL faculty, staff, students, affiliates, and international scholars to ensure completion of all required onboarding activities, including I-9 verification.
  • Assist with staff recruitment efforts as needed. Review resumes, provide candidate feedback to hiring managers, advance candidates through the appropriate stages in Workday, monitor applicant pools, and maintain complete recruitment records and hiring documentation.
  • Create and process Workday business processes for review, including but not limited to job requisitions, hires, compensation changes, and other personnel actions.
  • Coordinate logistics for HR-related programs and initiatives, including new employee orientation, new manager training, the SCL Manager Series, new employee breakfasts, employee recognition activities, and staff engagement events.
  • Provide day-to-day support to employees and managers on HR systems, processes, and policies. Assist in the development and maintenance of training materials and departmental procedures.
  • Manage HR communications through the SCL intranet. Serve as the first point of contact for SCL HR by responding to inquiries, and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Maintain confidential personnel records and HR documentation in accordance with university policies. Monitor compliance requirements and proactively follow up with employees regarding required training, outstanding timesheets, and other HR deadlines.
  • Manage student employment processes, including student appointments and related personnel actions. Communicate internal and University deadlines to supervisors and ensure student appointments adhere to approved start and end dates in Workday.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and two years of experience providing administrative, human resources, recruiting, or related operational support.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and sound judgment.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee records, or personnel administration.
  • Experience coordinating programs, events, or training initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions.
Salary Range

$55,000+ depending on qualifications

Employment Eligibility:

Regular staff who have been employed in their current position for the last six continuous months are eligible for openings being recruited for through University-Wide or Open Recruiting, to include both promotional opportunities and lateral transfers. Retirement Plan Eligibility:

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
