Assistant Designer - Women's Knitwear (TSD / Sweaters)

About the Role

We're looking for an Assistant Designer to support the development of women's knitwear, with a focus on sweaters and textured stitch design (TSD). This is a great opportunity for an early-career designer who is passionate about trends, yarns, and product creation, and wants hands-on experience bringing seasonal concepts to life.

What You'll Do

  • Research global fashion trends, including silhouettes, yarns, stitches, and techniques, to inform seasonal direction
  • Assist in developing design concepts, sketches, and CADs for women's knitwear
  • Create and update tech packs, clearly communicating design intent, fit, and construction details
  • Execute design revisions and updates based on feedback and shifting priorities
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (merchandising, production, technical design) to support product execution
  • Help manage the design process from concept through development, ensuring timelines are met
  • Track multiple seasons simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Maintain strong attention to detail across fit, fabrication, trims, and overall garment construction

What You Bring

  • 1-3+ years of experience in apparel design, preferably in women's knitwear or sweaters
  • Strong understanding of knit construction, including yarns, stitches, and gauges
  • Ability to translate trends into commercial, customer-relevant designs
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Experience creating or supporting tech packs and design packages
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication skills and openness to feedback

Nice to Have

  • Experience with sweater development lifecycle (yarn selection through production)
  • Familiarity with PLM systems or digital product development tools
  • Background in retail, contemporary, or lifestyle fashion brands
  • Degree in Fashion Design, Knitwear Design, or related field

Who You Are

  • Creative with a strong eye for color, texture, and detail
  • Highly collaborative and team-oriented
  • Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Eager to learn and grow within the design function
