POSITION SPECIFICS

The Department of Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) in the College of Health and Human Development is seeking an Academic Program Coordinator. The successful candidate for thispositionwill be part of a collaborative team working to support the department's academic programs, with primary emphasis on supporting undergraduate programming.   • Support essential program operations related to student awarding,communications, course substitutions, course scheduling,maintainingprogram records/data, etc.
  • Collaborate with faculty and leadership to gather and evaluate student and alumni feedback and prepare reports to inform program assessment and direction.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and campus partners to plan and coordinate departmental events, including recruitment activities (e.g., summer programs, prospective student visits, and open houses), co-curricular programming (e.g., resource fairs and career development events), and recognition celebrations (e.g., graduation and award receptions).
  • Collaborate with HDFS faculty and staff to implement and support career-oriented student resources and engaged-learning opportunities, including internships, externships, research experiences, service-learning initiatives, and travel-integrated educational programs.
  • Collaborate with undergraduate program leaders and faculty on strategic planning and special projects.
  • Assist in developing and maintainingrelationships with key partners, including community organizations that host interns and employ HDFS majors, alumni, post-baccalaureate programs, and affiliated partner programs

In addition, the individual in this role will provide wrap around support by collaborating with department staff manager to support key department operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will work effectively and independently on complex projects while also being comfortable, competent, and experienced working directly with students and faculty/staff collaborators.

Specific competencies critical to successinclude:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • A collaborative, team-oriented approach
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships

Proficiencywith Excel,Wordand Outlook isrequired. Experience withLionpath,eSteward, Starfish, Qualtrics, 25Live, and Canvas is preferred. Training opportunities are available.

Preferred background/experience in or related to student/academic services.

Additional preferred experience includes:

  • Academic program coordination or student services support in a higher education setting
  • Event planning and coordination (e.g., student programs, recruitment events, or recognition events)
  • Data management, reporting, or program assessment in an academic or student services environment

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS) No prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education. Required Certifications: None

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $36,888.00 - $53,532.00.
