Coordinates patient flow and scheduling in the Ultrasound Department. Performs patient exams and oversees the activities of the staff technologists.

I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Coordinates staff and patient flow through imaging section.
2. Performs imaging exams following departmental protocols.
3. Prepares all monthly, holiday, on-call and vacation schedules.
4. Responsible for performance appraisals, orientation interviewing and training of personnel.
5. Participates in writing and updating policies, procedures, and protocol manuals for department.

II. Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:
Required:
1. Specialized post-secondary training equal to two years of college.
2. American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) registered.
3. BLS required.

Experience/Skill:
Required:
1. Two years of related experience.

The Lead Technologist ensures a patient focused environment. Quality Improvement/QA responsibilities include participation in the correlative review process and Biannual QA meetings. Coordinates and facilitates Student and new hire education and training.
