Application Window Open date: July 16, 2026 Next review date: Saturday, Aug 15, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Sunday, Jan 16, 2028 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Surgery - Solid Organ Transplant Surgeon The Department of Surgery, Division of Transplant Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco is seeking outstanding candidates for an academic, solid organ transplant surgeon with training in liver, pancreas and kidney transplantation. Candidates must have completed an ASTS (American Society of Transplant Surgeons) approved fellowship by August 2026. Applicant's materials must list (pending) qualifications upon submission. Requirements include excellent clinical skills in transplantation, including significant experience in living donor liver transplantation and laparoscopic/robotic kidney donor procedures. The ideal candidate will also have experience in innovative areas such as use of the robotic platform for liver and kidney surgery, transplant oncology, xenotransplantation and/or proficiency in the use of liver perfusion devices/normothermic regional perfusion. This position will also allow for further development of a career in either Health Services Research, translational research or basic research, with a potential for up to 20% protected time to pursue research efforts. The successful candidate will be expected to further pursue independent research funding. Candidates must have recognized skills in the education of surgery residents and medical students and will be expected to be active participants in the Department's residency training and educational programs. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $154,700 - $405,900.
