What work will you perform?


The Software Quality Assurance Analyst III is responsible for supporting testing efforts with development team counterparts and program management. In this role you will write, document and execute test plans and test cases; identify and track defects; validate defect fixes; and work with the larger test team on team-based testing efforts. This role will support the enterprise ERP project, and the ideal candidate has at least one year of experience testing for the Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP solution as well as SQL Query analysis experience with Oracle databases. We seek a collaborative team player who can use their natural curiosity to help deliver a very high profile and important project for the enterprise.



Essential Responsibilities:



  • Estimate testing efforts on small, medium or large projects
  • Review requirements, design and architecture to identify gaps/missing information and derive scenarios for testing
  • Design test cases using test design techniques and apply proven analytical skills to validate fulfillment of requirements
  • Create, maintain, and review test plans, test cases, and test metrics
  • Investigate and report defects and appropriate test metrics
  • Adapt test strategy based on evolving requirements specifications
  • Perform functional and regression testing utilizing different testing techniques
  • Execute testing and report results for assigned areas of the project
  • Work with automation team to identify and resolve any issues with automated functional and/or performance tests
  • Promote, recommend, and implement improvements to the quality assurance standards and measure results
  • Mentor SQA Analysts in technical as well as business related areas and provide guidance on complex projects
  • Serve as a SQA Subject Matter Expert on critical applications
  • Assist Team Lead and Manager with project planning activities
  • Assist in the implementation, configuration and customization of tools and technologies used by the SQA team



Required Minimum Experience and Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
  • Five years of experience in software testing including executing Test Strategies, Test Plans, and Test Scripts



Preferred Experience and Education:



  • Five years of experience in software testing in a transportation-sector development environment



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Working knowledge of software testing concepts, deliverables and life cycle as it relates to the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • SQL skills with the ability to create, modify and execute complex queries for backend testing
  • Knowledge of computers to include desktop management, file management and operations; and working in a network environment
  • Proficiency with standard Office applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Working knowledge in the use of any test management and defect management tools
  • Working knowledge in the use of automated functional and/or performance testing tools
  • Working knowledge of scripting and creation of automated functional and/or performance tests
  • Knowledge of current object-oriented programming language (e.g. C++, JAVA)
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical documents including design and architecture
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve the company and department goals
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, developers, and peers
