Position Summary

The James and Gail Ellis School of Business Leadership (formerly Anderson School of Management) at The University of New Mexico (UNM) is looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with a warm and professional demeanor to join our Business Operations team as a Department Human Resources Rep. Reporting directly to our HR Operations Manager, the Dept Human Resources Rep will oversee, coordinate, and guide various human resources activities, recruitment, and operational and employment processes for the college.

In May 2026, UNM received a historic $30 million gift from longtime supporters James and Gail Ellis to be directed toward the advancement of business leadership education at UNM. This individual will support HR activities related to all future and current personnel, including faculty, adjunct instructors, staff, graduate and undergraduate student employees.

Specific duties will include:



  • Serve as a primary point of contact for HR related matters. This will include providing guidance and support to employees and supervisors regarding Ellis and University HR policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate hiring and recruitment activities from start to end including reviewing and verifying incoming and outgoing documentation related to all HR transactions for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established policies and procedures. Originate postings in UNMJobs, utilizing approved position requests for the college.
  • Originate compensation analysis for review, including calculation of education and experience, and entry into the University Salary Placement Equity Tool (SPET).
  • Provide high-touch support for onboarding activities for the college.
  • Process HR transactions, which includes but are not limited to postings and hirings for new employment, non-standard payments, adjunct instructor and faculty overload contracts, Electronic Personnel Action Forms (EPAFs), Electronic Personnel Action Notices (EPANs), etc.
  • Act as Org Manager overseeing and coordinating bi-weekly and monthly payroll processing via LoboTime for the whole college. Provide training to incoming faculty, staff, and students on the LoboTime system.
  • Maintain and/or gather data in approved internal/external systems (UNMJobs, Banner, Smartsheet) to be able to provide reporting data for HR activities in the college.
  • Implement and develop specific training as needed to support programs and associated activities for faculty, staff, and student employees.
  • Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment

Minimum Qualifications

Successful completion of at least 60 college-level credit hours; at least 4 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in business, administration, HR management, or related discipline
  • Prior UNMJobs / Banner (or other HRIS system) experience creating requisitions and process hiring and employment actions
  • Prior experience with payroll processing via LoboTime or other timekeeping system
  • Demonstrated experience with recruitment for positions at different levels within an organization (entry level - executive)
  • Experience establishing and maintaining personnel records
  • Experience with implementing effective reporting/tracking mechanisms for a variety of stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies
