General Job Description Position Overview The HVAC Designer supports project design and coordination by preparing layouts, updating design documentation, reviewing project information, and maintaining accurate project records. This position works closely with project managers, internal teams, vendors, subcontractors, and customers to help keep projects organized, accurate, and on schedule. Key Responsibilities Prepare and update HVAC project layouts, designs, and related documentation. Review plans, specifications, and project information for accuracy and completeness. Coordinate design requirements, updates, approvals, and timelines with internal and external partners. Maintain organized project files, reports, and documentation in company systems. Support project managers and operations teams with design-related administrative and coordination tasks. Identify and help resolve design concerns in a timely manner. Follow company policies, procedures, and operational standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Education None Minimum Years of Experience 0-2 Specific Qualifications Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience in drafting, design, administration, or project coordination preferred. Construction, HVAC, operations, or design-industry experience is a plus. Basic knowledge of drafting or design software preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Ability to read and interpret project plans, schedules, specifications, and related documents. Strong organizational, communication, customer service, and time-management skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with others. Willingness to learn and develop technical HVAC design knowledge. Relevant industry certifications or licenses are a plus and may be required for certain duties. Ability to pass required pre-employment screenings, including background and motor vehicle record checks. Ability to communicate effectively in English as needed to perform essential job duties. Physical Requirements Communicate in person, by phone, and through email. Work in a typical office environment, sitting at a desk and performing prolonged computer work, with occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching. Maintain dependable transportation and consistent, reliable attendance to meet customer service and operational needs. Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions within established company policies and procedures. Ability to work overtime, modified schedules, or occasional weekends as business needs require. Travel as required to support project and operational needs. Perform all work on-site and in person; this is not a remote or hybrid position. Lift, carry, push, and pull at least 25 pounds. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or work authorization support. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without current or future need for employer sponsorship.
