Fryer Operator- 2nd Shift

Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customer focused team, and are currently recruiting for aFryer Machine Operatorto join our team of manufacturing professionals inWilkes-Barre, PA.

This position will work on 2nd Shift. Required hours are Monday to Friday 2:30 PM- 11:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for frying quality chips.
• Prepare fryer and associated components for startup.
• Monitors equipment performance and product continuously throughout production.
• Maintains proper levels of output and quality, reporting all unusual occurrences in product rejections to the supervisor.
• Carries out all duties necessary for daily equipment shut down and cleaning.
• Maintains all required operation records and log sheets, making sure that entries are accurate, complete and legible.
• Carries out all weekly sanitation procedures on fryer and related equipment.
• Changes and set blades.
• Works as peeler/fryer operator when cross training other operators.
• Responsible to follow all safety rules and work safely at all times.
• Responsible to report unsafe equipment and practices to supervisor.
• Requires working proactively in a cross-functional team with diverse groups of people.
• Must adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Participates in all sanitation activities in order to maintain, clean and safeguard equipment and facilities used for the packaging and processing of food products.
  
  
  
  • This includes but is not limited to the use of mild to moderate chemicals and spray cleaners, compressed air tools and cloths to hand-wipe equipment.
  
  
  
  
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

• Requires knowledge of production flow, operating procedures, and sanitation procedures.
• Some knowledge of machinery is preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Constant attention to flow of potatoes to avoid slowing production.
• Able to work in a warm to hot work environment.
• Able to pay great attention to detail.
• Requires own reliable transportation to the worksite.
