Job Summary

The CDL Class B Driver is responsible for safely transporting materials to customer locations while ensuring timely, accurate deliveries and providing excellent customer service. This position operates a 28-foot automatic flatbed truck and supports warehouse operations when not making deliveries. Warehouse responsibilities include receiving and shipping, inventory management, order picking, forklift operation, loading and unloading trucks, material handling, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Job Responsibilities



  • Safely operate a 28-foot automatic flatbed truck to deliver materials to customer locations.
  • Complete scheduled deliveries efficiently while following assigned routes and verifying directions.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Load, secure, transport, and unload materials in compliance with weight limits and safety standards.
  • Verify delivery documentation, obtain customer signatures, and return completed paperwork accurately.
  • Pick up customer returns and verify returned materials match authorization documents.
  • Pick up local purchase orders and return packing lists as required.
  • Communicate with supervisors throughout the workday regarding delivery status and any issues.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, moving violations, or maintenance concerns promptly.
  • Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
  • Fuel assigned vehicles as needed.
  • Assist with warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, inventory management, order picking, packing, forklift operation, loading and unloading trucks, and general housekeeping.
  • Maintain accurate work orders and shipping documentation.
  • Provide professional customer service while representing the organization.
  • Support operational goals and perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Work overtime as needed to meet business requirements.


Job Requirements



  • Minimum of one year of Class B CDL driving experience operating commercial vehicles.
  • Must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (Class A license accepted).
  • Must have held a CDL for a minimum of one year.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must maintain the required state-issued non-excepted interstate self-certification designation.
  • Experience operating commercial flatbed trucks or similar commercial vehicles.
  • Experience loading and unloading trucks while matching shipments to delivery paperwork.
  • Ability to read, understand, and accurately complete work orders and delivery documentation.
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and safe driving practices.
  • Forklift operating experience preferred.
  • Experience with receiving, shipping, inventory management, material handling, and warehouse operations preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to safely lift, move, load, and unload materials throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.


Education



  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
