Job Summary

The Contracts Administrator is responsible for administering and managing the full lifecycle of federal government contracts, from proposal support and contract award through contract closeout. This role ensures compliance with applicable federal acquisition regulations, manages subcontract agreements, advises internal stakeholders on contractual matters, and serves as the primary point of contact for contract administration. The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of federal contracting requirements, exceptional negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Job Responsibilities




  • Draft, review, negotiate, and administer federal prime contracts, subcontracts, teaming agreements, and contract modifications from award through closeout.



  • Serve as the primary point of contact for contractual matters with federal customers, contracting officers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.



  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal regulations, including FAR, DFARS, and agency-specific supplements.



  • Support proposal development by reviewing Requests for Proposal (RFPs), identifying contractual risks, evaluating flowdown requirements, and preparing required representations and certifications.



  • Administer subcontract agreements, including developing subcontract templates, supporting negotiations, and monitoring subcontract compliance.



  • Advise project managers and leadership on contractual requirements, risks, funding limitations, and compliance obligations.



  • Support compliance with federal subcontracting requirements, including small business participation and reporting obligations.



  • Prepare, maintain, and organize contract documentation, including modifications, funding actions, deliverables, correspondence, and official contract files.



  • Support interactions with federal oversight organizations, including contracting offices, DCMA, DCAA, and other government representatives, as applicable.



  • Monitor contract funding levels and ensure compliance with funding limitations and contractual requirements.



  • Maintain accurate electronic contract files in accordance with federal record retention requirements.



  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance contract administration efficiency, consistency, and regulatory compliance.




Job Requirements




  • 7-10 years of experience in federal contract administration, preferably supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) or other federal agencies.



  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).



  • Experience administering federal subcontracts and supporting proposal development activities.



  • Knowledge of federal contract types, including Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Time and Materials (T&M), Cost-Reimbursable, and Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts.



  • Experience interacting with federal compliance organizations such as DCMA and DCAA is preferred.



  • Strong contract negotiation, risk assessment, and analytical skills.



  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.



  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.



  • Ability to interpret complex contractual language and federal regulatory requirements.



  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.



  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government SECRET Security Clearance.




Education




  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Pre-Law, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
