Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous purchasing experience required
• Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills
• Knowledge of sales and marketing principles preferred
• Experience with AMTECH Encore or similar ERP systems preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management software
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Basic math skills, including gross profit calculations
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Professional integrity and strong ethical standards
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and resolve conflicts effectively
• Reliable attendance and punctuality

Job Duties

• Process and confirm daily purchase orders using the ERP system
• Maintain current supplier price lists and purchasing records
• Resolve vendor issues and escalate concerns as needed
• Collaborate with Sales to understand customer needs and purchasing requirements
• Analyze purchase requests based on demand, pricing, volume, and inventory levels
• Monitor open purchase orders, backorders, and inventory to support on-time delivery
• Negotiate pricing, discounts, freight, and transportation terms with suppliers
• Prepare quote requests, compare supplier pricing, and recommend sourcing solutions
• Research and qualify new suppliers while maintaining the Approved Vendor List
• Maintain supplier databases and purchasing documentation
• Assist with new item setup, proof approvals, and merchandising activities
• Manage slow-moving inventory and expedite materials based on customer demand
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
• Serve as a liaison between Purchasing, Sales, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Shipping, Design, and Corporate Procurement
• Monitor market trends and make informed purchasing decisions
• Assist the Purchasing Director with daily purchasing operations and special projects
