Mechanical Applications Engineer - Piping & Skid Systems

Direct Hire | $75,000-$85,000 | Full-Time

Looking to launch or grow your engineering career with hands-on design work? We're seeking a Mechanical Applications Engineer to design and support custom piping and skid-mounted systems used in industrial applications. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wants to learn the industry from the ground up while working on innovative, customer-driven projects.


What You'll Do Mechanical Applications Engineer

  • Design and develop skid-mounted equipment, piping systems, and structural support frameworks.
  • Create 3D models, equipment layouts, fabrication drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Perform mechanical and structural calculations for piping, supports, and equipment installations.
  • Review customer requirements and collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to deliver customized solutions.
  • Specify pumps, motors, valves, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and other mechanical components.
  • Ensure designs meet ASME, ANSI, API, and applicable industry standards.
  • Support fabrication, testing, installation, and field commissioning while resolving technical challenges.



Mechanical Applications Engineer - Piping & Skid Systems Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) required.
  • 1-3 years of mechanical design or applications engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of piping systems, structural steel, mechanical equipment layouts, and skid-mounted systems.
  • Experience with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or AutoCAD.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
  • Experience with FEA, pressure vessels, industrial manufacturing, power generation, water treatment, or process industries is a plus.
