General Summary: The Surgical Equipment & Materials Specialist manages the evaluation, selection, purchasing, delivery, distribution, and inventory of equipment, supplies, and surgical instruments for patient-care and patient-support areas. This position monitors expenses, analyzes inventory levels and usage, supports cost-control initiatives, and evaluates automated inventory-control systems to promote efficient operations. The Specialist coordinates with nursing leadership, Materials Management, Facilities, Clinical Engineering, vendors, and other departments to resolve equipment and supply concerns, including delivery delays, shortages, overages, damage claims, and internal purchasing needs. This role also supports facility renovations, equipment upgrades, project and maintenance orders, and other operational requests. The position requires knowledge of materials and equipment inventory-control activities, automated inventory systems, and patient-care equipment. Computer proficiency is required, including knowledge of hardware and software and the ability to develop customized reports. The Specialist must be able to gather, organize, and analyze data, work methods, inventory levels, and adjustments; communicate effectively with internal and external partners; demonstrate initiative; and work independently with limited supervision. No licensure or certification is required. Minimum Qualifications:
