The Merchandiser is responsible for servicing assigned retail accounts in a safe, productive, and professional manner. This role ensures products are properly stocked, displayed, rotated, and maintained across assigned retail locations. The Merchandiser also supports sales initiatives by building positive customer relationships, identifying opportunities to improve product placement, and assisting with promotional programs and displays.

Job Responsibilities



  • Ensure products are properly stocked, rotated, and maintained according to established product rotation standards.
  • Monitor inventory and identify out-of-stock, damaged, or out-of-code products.
  • Minimize damaged and out-of-code product through proper inventory management and rotation practices.
  • Ensure equipment and displays are clean, properly maintained, in good working condition, and presented according to established standards.
  • Notify the appropriate sales representative of product pickup, exchange, or replacement needs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product placement and support account growth.
  • Establish and maintain positive, professional relationships with retail managers and store personnel.
  • Execute established merchandising processes, standards, and routines across assigned accounts.
  • Assist with new programs, promotional initiatives, and the execution of product displays.
  • Monitor competitor activity, including product launches, pricing, promotions, and displays, and communicate relevant information to the sales team.
  • Maintain required records and documentation, including mileage, fuel purchases, training, and other work-related records.
  • Collaborate with sales and merchandising team members to support account objectives and program execution.
  • Share best practices and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Represent the organization professionally while working in the field and interacting with customers.
  • Follow all applicable policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Reliable personal vehicle available for work purposes with required insurance coverage.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Comfortable using smartphones and mobile technology for work-related tasks.
  • Strong observational and analytical skills, particularly when assessing inventory and merchandising conditions.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Previous merchandising experience is preferred.
  • Previous retail, sales, customer service, or field-based experience is a plus.
  • Additional language skills are a plus.


Education



  • High school diploma or GED required.
