This entry level role works closely with caseworkers and other social service aides to provide services in the home to families with children. Work occurs after a caseworker has visited and determined which services are to be provided and is centered on one-on-one assistance in all areas of family life. Care and communication with families helps them work toward positive goals and outcomes. As a County Social Services Aide 1, you will perform the following duties:

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Possible after-hours appointments for supervised visitation and transportation.
• Possible travel requiring overnight stays.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Graduation from high school; or
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Other Requirements:

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

• You must pass a background investigation.
• A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
  • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
