Work Model: Hybrid, with the ability to work remotely two days per week.

The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for leveraging strong accounting expertise and a deep understanding of accounting principles to support the financial reporting, compliance, and accounting operations of a regulated public company. This role performs complex accounting activities, provides technical accounting guidance, and helps ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Company's financial reporting.

Essential responsibilities for this role include:

Financial Reporting & Month-End Close

  • Support the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all close activities.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end variance analyses.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of SEC filings and regulatory reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Research and evaluate accounting impacts resulting from business changes, new regulations, and emerging accounting standards.

Technical Accounting & Financial Analysis

  • Perform analysis and accounting assessments for complex areas, including:
    • Revenue recognition
    • Investments and pricing
    • Stock-based compensation
    • Derivatives
    • Leases
    • New products and business initiatives
  • Provide recommendations and guidance on technical accounting matters to support sound financial decision-making.

General Ledger & Accounting Operations

  • Maintain and enhance General Ledger system integrations.
  • Identify and implement necessary updates to GL accounts, mappings, and reporting structures.
  • Support accounts payable controls, including oversight of payment processing and review of high-risk transactions.
  • Help ensure strong internal controls and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Project & Deadline Management

  • Effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deliver high-quality work while meeting critical deadlines and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of the role.

Requirements:

  • 4 year accounting degree from an accredited institution required
  • 4+ years prior relevant experience
  • Industry and SEC experience preferred
  • CPA Designation preferred
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and curiosity for technology and systems, including emerging tools such as AI; ability to quickly learn, adapt, and leverage digital solutions to drive efficiency and innovation.
