Job Summary Are you a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant who enjoys meaningful patient interaction and being part of a collaborative specialty care team? Join our Physiatry practice and play an important role in helping patients feel supported, informed, and cared for throughout their visit. In this hands-on, patient-facing role, you will partner closely with providers, nursing staff, and other team members to support smooth clinical flow, deliver excellent service, and contribute to high-quality care.Why This Role Stands Out As a Medical Assistant in Physiatry, you will support a specialty team focused on helping patients improve function, mobility, and quality of life. You will be involved in both clinical and administrative responsibilities, giving you the opportunity to use a broad range of skills while helping the practice run efficiently. What You'll Do *Room patients, prepare examination rooms, and support patient flow throughout the visit. *Interview patients, obtain medical information, measure vital signs, height, and weight, and accurately document information in the medical record. *Prepare equipment and supplies for healthcare providers and assist with visit needs. *Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and provider instructions using clear, supportive communication. *Partner with physicians, nurse practitioners, nursing staff, and other departments to help deliver coordinated care. *Perform general office duties, including phone support, forms, documentation, and patient advocacy. *Collect, log, and prepare blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens for testing; perform phlebotomy when competency is demonstrated. *Maintain immunization inventory, monitor expiration dates, and administer immunizations as applicable. *Support junior Medical Assistants by answering day-to-day questions and participating in onboarding and training. *Contribute to departmental quality initiatives, including two patient identifiers and hand hygiene practices.
