Essential Functions

About the Role - FedEx Dataworks is building the world's first Connected Intelligence Core - a platform that fuses FedEx's physical ground truth of global commerce (17M+ packages/day, $2T+ in goods annually) with partner commercial graphs and third-party signals to turn supply chain data into automated, intelligent action. Through this, we are unlocking proprietary, ground-truth commercial intelligence derived from the movement of global commerce.

We are looking for a Solution Architectto drive full-cycle data licensing sales of Commercial Data & Strategic Signals across institutional and enterprise data buyers. This is not a traditional pre-sales role. You will work at the intersection of agentic AI, data products, API-driven integrations, and supply chain intelligence - translating Dataworks' platform architecture into compelling, tailored solutions that provide predictive signals, macro trade indices, and risk metrics that serve a broad spectrum of commercial clients.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical fluency with the ability to communicate architecture decisions to both engineers and C-suite executives - and thrives in an environment where the product is evolving rapidly. In this hybrid commercial and technical role, you will take full ownership of qualified opportunities once engaged with a qualified lead. You will lead technical discovery with Data Scientists, Quantitative Researchers, and Strategy Directors, validate signal utility, design cloud data delivery pipelines, structure data licensing agreements, and close enterprise subscription contracts.

What You'll Do

Pre-Sale & Technical Solutioning

  • End-to-End Opportunity Ownership - Lead full-cycle sales engagements for qualified inbound and outbound leads across multiple verticals by licensing commercial data feeds, custom signal cuts, trade flow indices, merchant activity metrics, and supply chain resilience scores.
  • Own the technical narrative in sales conversations for generally available Dataworks commercial data products
  • Lead technical and strategic discovery sessions tailored to diverse buyer personas - from quantitative data researchers and data strategists to Corporate Chief Strategy Officers and Risk Modelers.
  • Define solution architecture, data flows, integration requirements, and success KPIs for enterprise prospects
  • Formulate value-based pricing, navigate complex data procurement processes, manage compliance and data rights reviews, and negotiate multi-year data subscription agreements
  • Articulate signal construction methodologies, ticker/brand entity mapping hierarchies, panel stability, aggregation standards, and point-in-time accuracy.
  • Assist Product and Sales with early-stage alpha/beta discovery calls as new capabilities emerge from the Connected Intelligence Core
  • Scope and manage data trials, sample evaluation sandboxes, and back testing exercises to demonstrate predictive power, operational relevance, or investment alpha.

Platform & Data Product Expertise

  • Develop and maintain deep expertise across the Dataworks product suite - SaaS products, agentic modules, commercial data indices, and the underlying Connected Intelligence Core platform
  • Articulate how Dataworks' embedded AI agents shift customers from reactive dashboards to continuous, proactive intelligence and automated orchestration
  • Explain data product constructs including signals, insights, risk scores (e.g., Dynamic Resilience Score), and index-based commercial data offerings to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Stay current on emerging platform capabilities: agent-to-agent orchestration, clean room data environments, MCP-based connector protocols, and privacy-preserving data exchange methods

Integration & Technical Enablement

  • Guide prospects through API-first integration design, REST/webhook architecture, and data ingestion requirements across the Dataworks platform
  • Evaluate and scope partner connector pre-builds needed to unlock GTM (e.g., SAP/ERP connector, ServiceNow workflow embeds, marketplace integrations via AWS/Azure/NOW)
  • Translate technical solutioning artifacts to the post-sale FDE (Forward Deployed Engineering) and Implementation teams to ensure seamless handoff and execution
  • Collaborate with the Commercial team to document repeatable, scalable solutioning patterns that reduce friction across the sales cycle

Partner & Ecosystem Solutioning

  • Support Build & Win co-build partnerships by designing joint technical architectures and IP-safe integration approaches
  • Participate in Sell & Scale partner solutioning including bundled offering design and co-sell technical requirements
  • Review inbound partner technical requirements and synthesize recommendations back to Product Management, Strategy, and Integrations teams
  • Assist with enablement of Commercial team on partner-specific technical narratives and Dataworks platform capabilities

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product Management to flag customization and integration requirements surfaced during the sales process
  • Partner with the Customer Success and FDE teams to ensure solution designs are both technically feasible and deliverable within agreed timelines
  • Contribute to scalable solution documentation, integration playbooks, and technical sales assets for the broader GTM organization
  • Travel onsite to customer and partner locations when deep discovery or hands-on technical validation is required

Skills,Knowledge, & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of modern API architecture: REST, GraphQL, webhooks, event-driven patterns, and data pipeline design
  • Ability to read, evaluate, and explain HTML/CSS/JS-based solutions and data product specifications to both engineering and business audiences
  • Familiarity with agentic AI concepts - agent-to-agent communication, orchestration layers, LLM-powered workflows, and tool-use protocols (MCP/model context protocol)
  • Working knowledge of data exchange methods including clean room environments, data clean rooms, privacy-preserving analytics, and governed data sharing
  • Experience with enterprise integration platforms and connectors (ServiceNow, SAP, ERP/WMS/TMS ecosystems)
  • Ability to design and present clear solution architecture diagrams that document integration points, data flows, and system dependencies
  • Exceptional client-facing presentation and discovery skills - able to lead executive briefings and deep-dive technical workshops with equal effectiveness
  • Ability to translate complex technical architectures into clear value narratives tied to measurable business outcomes (ROI, cost avoidance, operational efficiency)
  • Strong written communication for solution design documents, SOW scoping inputs, and integration specifications
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity in a fast-moving, platform-first environment where product capabilities are actively evolving
  • Supply chain, logistics, trade compliance, or financial risk domain experience - understanding of the operational contexts in which Dataworks products are deployed
  • Familiarity with data monetization concepts: commercial data indices, B2B data products, signal-to-insight models
  • Experience supporting or designing solutions on data-intensive, AI-native SaaS platforms
  • Experience selling data products into at least one of the following sectors: **Institutional Financial Services (Buy-Side/Sell-Side), Corporate Market Intelligence / Strategy, Management Consulting, or Insurance/Risk Analytics
  • Demonstrated success closing complex, recurring B2B data licensing, alternative data feeds, market intelligence, or analytics subscriptions.
  • Deep familiarity with commercial data licensing terms, enterprise security standards, IP protection, and data governance agreements.
