Job Description Summary

Thrive is seeking licensed clinicians holding an active, unrestricted LGPC, LMSW, LGDAC, LCDAC, LCPC, LCSW-C, LGMFT, LCMFT, or similar provide individual, group, and family therapy surrounding addictions and co-occurring mental health challenges within the AACPS system. The Substance Use Prevention and Intervention Therapist will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, performing direct services including individual, family and group therapy, assessments, consultations and crisis interventions within the scope of the respective individual's license. The SUPI therapist also provides psychoeducation to families and students on substance use issues, such as vaping, tobacco, marijuana, alcohol, opioids, and other drugs.

The above role requires licensure (not certification), are full-time, and paid on an hourly basis.

Duties include but are not limited to:



  • Using professional counseling skills, provides therapy to individuals, couples, and families
  • Timely documents sessions
  • Collaborates as necessary with Prescribing Team, Intake Coordinator/s, Front Desk, Clinical Supervisor and others to provide a treatment plan
  • Attends meetings and trainings as required
  • Represents Thrive at school or other engagements as necessary


Minimum Requirements:



  • Active, Unrestricted License as an LGPC, LGPAT, LGMFT, LGDAC, LMSW under the Maryland Professional Counseling and/or Social Work Board/s; Certification in lieu of licensure cannot be accepted.

Accepting medical assistance and private insurances, we provide individual, family, and school-based therapy services to adults, children and families in our clinics located in Rosedale, Catonsville, Silver Spring, Millersville and Bel Air along with virtual and community settings throughout central Maryland.
