The Sales Account Manager is a customer facing role acting as the account owner or "quarterback" representing TC Transcontinental Packaging responsible for delivering budgeted sales and profitability objectives. They will uncover opportunities at new and existing customers and coordinate efforts across disciplines for project completion to grow sales revenues while managing all on-going existing business. They will utilize solid critical thinking and communication skills to build strong customer relationships and live out the TC Transcontinental values of respect, innovation, teamwork and performance. Responsibilities
When your actions lead to success:
- Delivers annual sales and margin targets for new business while maintaining and growing existing business.
- Gains access to all buying influences within each customer and leverages the skills appropriate to understand the customer's needs, priorities and drivers.
- Builds professional and personal relationships, as appropriate, to secure the business by bringing customer-defined value.
- Builds and executes customer account plans, which forms the strategy to obtain new business.
- Leads and facilitates cross functional team members as resources to bring value to the customer.
- Secures and manages supply agreements.
- Proactively sells product innovation and sustainable packaging solutions.
- Anticipates and proactively addresses business opportunities and risks.
- Follows all company policies & procedures, reflect organizational core values, and maintains a clean & safe working environment at all times.
- Participate in business and industry events on a regular basis with existing and potential clients.
- Identify and provide intelligence on market and customer trends and opportunities.
- Participate in training & development opportunities to expand knowledge of flexible packaging solutions and sales techniques.
- Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.
Qualifications
When your expertise drives us:
- Bachelor's degree in business, packaging, or engineering discipline or comparable work experience
- Minimum 3 years successful selling experience including selling to large, multi-national customers
- Experience in the flexible packaging industry strongly preferred
- Previous experience in manufacturing organization; preferred
- Knowledge of, and experience with, printing and converting industry and equipment; preferred
- Strong skills in PC-based software applications including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint and Word
- Mathematical skills - basic accounting, spreadsheet ability, basic problem-solving methods
- Demonstrated evidence of critical thinking, logic, patience, reasoning, empathy, continuous learning and development
- Excellent communication skills; verbal, written and visual management
- Presents comfortably to audiences both large and small
- Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and attention to detail
- Ability to effectively build and lead teams
- Ability to build relationships and to continually grow sales skills
