As a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Critical Care, you'll be the vital link in our Critical Care team! You'll provide top-notch pharmaceutical care, collaborating closely with healthcare professionals to ensure our patients receive the best possible treatment.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in daily patient care activities.
  • Discuss medication order clarifications with the prescriber.
  • Document any changes in patient records and inform others of medication order changes.
  • Provide in-services for the critical care nursing and medical staff.
  • Initiate research investigations aimed at defining the role of critical care pharmacists or optimizing the care of patients in the critical care department.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of an approved College of Pharmacy and possesses a Doctor of Pharmacy or BS in Pharmacy is required

Experience:

  • ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency in Acute Care Pharmacy Practice or two years of experience in a complex health-system pharmacy environment is required.

  • Experience in emergency medicine or critical care is required.

License(s)/Certification(s):

  • Registered Pharmacist in the state of IA and IL is required within 180 days of hire.

  • Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
