SUMMARY:

SNF Chemtall, a subsidiary of SNF Holding Company is currently seeking a Production Shift Supervisor. The Production Shift Supervisor oversees the daily production operations of the plant under the direction of a Plant Foreman and/or Area Manager. The supervisor monitors operations for efficiency and safety while ensuring that all applicable regulatory requirements are met. The supervisor also runs production schedules to meet internal goals as well as the expectations of customers and monitors quality and production. The supervisor is responsible for the management of production staff including hiring, training, and disciplining of plant personnel.

This is a rotating shift position. Salary is based on qualifications and experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Supervise the activities of six to twelve hourly employees charged with the chemical manufacturing and packaging of multiple production lines and processes.
  • Maintain and improve safety standards while conforming to safe work practices and procedures.
  • Identify and initiate corrective actions to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to product quality and production efficiency.
  • Follow up on corrective actions through to completion.
  • Minimize and control labor costs by enforcing andadjusting schedules as needed.
  • Ensure that finished products meet all customer specifications and sign off on orders.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in administering performance appraisals, effective coaching and development, and disciplining plant personnel when necessary.
  • Ensure all safety permits are carried out and completed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts sitewide.
  • Attend and actively participate in all safety and production meetings.
  • Work with the engineering & maintenance departments to facilitate plant maintenance and improvements.
  • Troubleshoot issues to decrease downtime & improve productivity/efficiency.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Biology required.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years manufacturing experience preferred. Relevant related job and supervisory experience will be considered.
  • A proven track record of focusing on safety, quality, production, and environmental matters.
  • Superior communication (verbal & written), and ability to motivate, prioritize, and organize in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • 2 years or more of strong supervisory and leadership skills are required.
  • A strong work ethic is required.
  • Positive attitude with the ability to address issues, follow up, and implement solutions as required.
