Job Summary:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

As an Electrical Engineer Intern, you will be responsible for applying knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices in general hardware and radio frequency design to projects. Your main emphasis will be on design, development and sustainability of consumer products focused on access control, including wireless remote controls, garage door openers, gate openers, commercial door openers, and other access control products. You'll gain the ability to support other hardware and firmware engineers in day-to-day tasks, as well as interact, communicate and contribute within a cross functional team environment.

In this role, you can also expect to:

  • Analyze, design, debug and test digital and analog circuits with limited complexity

  • Perform impedance matching of radio frequency circuits and antennas

  • Capture schematics and design PCBs using Altium Designer

  • Simulate hardware circuits in PSPICE, Electronic Workbench or HFSS

  • Write design specifications and test reports

  • Perform bench testing of designs

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university

  • Must be able to work from our Oakbrook, IL office (15 miles west of Chicago) a minimum of 3 days a week

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with MS Office tools

  • Familiarity with electrical test equipment such as oscilloscope, power supply, signal generator, spectrum analyzer or network analyzer

  • Experience with LabVIEW test automation software

  • Soldering skills

  • Exposure to simulation software such as PSPICE, Electronic Work Bench, HFSS, and ADS

The payrate for this position is $28.00 - $34.00 / per hour; hourly payoffered may vary depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
