The Laboratory of Systems Neural Development is hiring a Research Associate with training in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar. The lab studies the circuitry of the developing brain using electrophysiological, imaging, and anatomical techniques. The position requires assisting with laboratory experiments at all levels of analysis. The core responsibilities of this position include development and maintenance of electrophysiological and imaging apparatuses, handling and maintenance of advanced neural probes, development and maintenance of software for data acquisition and analysis, neural imaging and electrophysiology analysis, and preparation of data for publication. This position reports to the principal investigator and is not an independent scientific position but the successful candidate will participate in multiple levels of experimental design and analysis. Depending on the candidate and available time an independent research project can be assigned. Some flexibility for hours is possible once trained, and there is some possibility for limited remote work.

Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a master's degree and 1 year of experience in a related discipline. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.

  • Masters in relevant fields are preferred.
  • Experience in programming in Python, Matlab or both, and coursework or experience with signal processing preferred.
