The University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture is a state wide campus, with faculty based on University campuses, at Research and Extension Centers and in every Arkansas county. It consists of the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station (AES) and the Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service (CES), and is home to more than 1400 employees. The Division was established in 1959 and is headed by the Vice-President for Agriculture. The Division headquarters is located in Little Rock with the rest of the University of Arkansas System Administration. Qualifications:

• PhD in an agricultural or related discipline.
• Experience in a faculty role at a land-grant university.
• Record of successful grantsmanship at the federal level.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Credentials to hold the title of Professor with tenure in an academic unit of the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences.
• Leadership experience in a College of Agriculture (e.g. Department Head, Assistant or Associate Dean).
• Experience in sponsored research and research development management.
• Experience in research compliance management.

• Strong personal initiative, service-orientation, and willingness to perform tasks that range from strategic to detail-oriented.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Skilled in conflict-resolution.

Institutional Background:

The University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture's mission is to strengthen agriculture, communities, and families by connecting trusted research to the adoption of best practices. Through the Agricultural Experiment Station and the Cooperative Extension Service, the Division of Agriculture conducts research and extension work within the nation's historic land grant education system.

The Division of Agriculture is one of 20 entities within the University of Arkansas System. It has offices in all 75 counties in Arkansas and faculty on five system campuses.

Across Arkansas, nearly 150 faculty have research appointments through the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station. Experiment station-appointed faculty conduct research through nine departments coordinated with the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville campus, in the Forest Resources Center at the University of Arkansas-Monticello and in the Arkansas State University Research Unit.
