Your role and responsibilities
The Tool Room is responsible for the modification, fabrication and repair of various types of tools, parts and equipment to keep production continuous on the shop floor across several different departments. As a tool room machinist, you will be responsible for: Executing assigned work according to agreed workflows and in accordance with ABB standard processes and safety guidelines Maintaining safe working attitude and environment in the performance of daily activities Conducting shop floor operations in compliance with health and safety guidelines and reports and non-compliance Repairing and replacing injection mold fixtures and components Fabricating custom designs based on drawings
Qualifications for the role
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-5 years of experience with set-up and operation of manual mills and lathes or CNC
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to follow fabrication plan with minimal supervision
- Ability to identify and properly use various inspection tools to verify that parts are being fabricated to blueprint specifications
- CNC Machining experience is preferred
- Knowledge of injection molding operations a plus but not required
