Summary

The Director of Behavioral Health is responsible for the overall clinical leadership and operation of the divisions clinical services, in accordance with behavioral health regulatory requirements. They serve as a clinical expert, provide education and consultation services to ensure adequate resources are provided to meet patient and program needs. They provide direct patient care and clinical supervision to clinicians in the system. They ensure that the behavioral health policies and procedures are in place and aligned with best practice for therapeutic care. The director of behavioral health oversees the peer review process and provides feedback. They ensure productivity measures are being met. They provide administrative guidance and consultation to leadership. They develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate clinical services to ensure they are within the best practices of mental health standards. They monitor, assess and train staff on clinically related procedures. They work with the practice to ensure the provision of high-quality, cost-effective services while ensuring excellent patient experience, with attention to patient access, employee engagement and clinical performance metrics.

Requirements

Education:

Doctorate degree in psychology (PhD or PsyD) required.

Experience:

Minimum of three years supervisory or management experience in the health care field.

Licensure:

PSYD or PHD from the State of Florida required.

Certification:

CPR/CPI

Other:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster cooperation across departmental lines and manage information, environmental and fiscal resources to accomplish goals. Must be able to maintain and demonstrate a broad knowledge of the tasks and assets necessary to accomplish the company objectives. Must have knowledge about needs and requirements of third-party payers and the ability to be culturally sensitive to diverse groupings of employees and consumers of services as well as maintain knowledge of age/disability competency to the program areas served. Must possess good analytical skills. Must be able to work tactfully and cooperatively with staff. Must be literate in computer use. Behavioral Health JC/DNV survey experience preferred.
