Our business began with formation of The Milwaukee Electric Railway and Light Co. in 1896. Today, our 4,300 employees serve more than 1.1 million electric customers in Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and 1.1 million natural gas customers in Wisconsin. The company also supplies steam heat for more than 400 downtown Milwaukee customers.
