Staff Accountant

Job Summary

Prepares and manages a company’s financial records to help keep track of profits, assets, and potential tax liabilities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepares monthly balance sheets
  • Prepares profit and loss income statements
  • Files state and federal taxes
  • Sets up and reconciles new bank accounts
  • Confirms that payments are charged to the proper accounts
  • Manages payroll and customer accounts
  • Reconciles all cash disbursement accounts
  • Assists tax auditors, when necessary
  • Maintains and makes recommendations for company accounting software
